From the cane fields of South Africa to the sugar estates of Tanzania, and across key agricultural regions in Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, and eSwatini, Unitrans is embedded in the rhythms of Africa’s farmlands. Our Agricultural division doesn’t just deliver services – we enable ecosystems.
With decades of in-market experience, we offer end-to-end agricultural logistics and operational support: from in-field loading, haulage, and crop evacuation, to mill-side offloading and seasonal road infrastructure maintenance. Our teams also play a pivotal role in fleet optimisation, yield maximisation, and value-chain coordination, tailored to meet the demands of both commercial agribusinesses and small-scale growers.
But beyond what we deliver, it’s how we deliver it that sets us apart. Across every operation, our focus remains clear: to uplift the communities we operate in through skills development, local employment, enterprise support, and practical on-the-ground initiatives that make a difference – whether that’s helping maintain access roads, supporting local education, or sharing best-practice agricultural insights.
Partnering for progress
We don’t just deliver services – we create value. For our customers. For our partners. And for the thousands of small-scale growers who depend on us to get their produce to market. At one of our key operations, over 12,000 small growers rely on us to move their crops efficiently, cost-effectively, and sustainably. Through consolidated loads and optimised routing, we ease congestion at mills, extend road life, and improve profitability for growers – delivering real impact where it matters most.
Going beyond the field
Empowerment goes further than employment. It’s about presence. Participation. Showing up – consistently. Whether it’s repainting a school, prepping a community soccer pitch, assisting with dust suppression, or donating vehicles to support local law enforcement, our teams are always looking for hands-on ways to contribute.
In Tanzania, we’ve partnered with a leading sugar producer to support a broad base of smallholder growers. Beyond logistics, we provide access to legal, financial, and institutional support – strengthening their ability to grow independently and sustainably. Later this year, we’ll be taking a group of grower representatives to Nampo, one of Africa’s premier agricultural expos, to expose them to leading practices and innovation. Because when we share knowledge, we sow resilience.
A month to reflect – and recommit
At Unitrans, we believe communities aren’t just where we operate – they’re why we operate. By forging partnerships that go deeper than contracts, and crafting solutions that stretch beyond logistics, we’re helping to build a future that’s inclusive, resilient, and proudly African.
At Unitrans, connection is just the start. Growing people, communities, and shared prosperity across Africa is the journey we’re committed to - this month and every month.
