On the 28th and 29th of September 2019, Unitrans Africa Tanzania Kilombero together with Kanu and CFAO, hosted a 20 km and 50 km cycle race, for all to join, with amazing prizes on offer. The Unitrans Africa Tanzania Kilombero “EPIC” as the locals cheekily refers to it, took place on Saturday 28 September. Participants donned their cleats and helmets for an eagerly anticipated race. The participants valiantly embarked on a tough but scenic cycle race with much excitement. After a tightly competed main race, the day was won by Andy Norris Jones who narrowly beat out the competition. The following day the 10 km and 21 km trail run through the forest continued from the excitement of the previous day’s activities.
Whether you actively competed or just wanted to enjoy the amazing scenery, there was plenty for all to see. Although both winners didn’t come from the Kilombero depot family, it was amazing to see the participants coming from far and wide to participate in the amazing Unitrans Africa Tanzania Kilombero Epic. We would specifically like to thank Kilombero Sugar who assisted with the hosting of the event on their estate and who expressed their appreciation to Unitrans Africa Tanzania Kilombero for all the effort the company went to in organizing such an amazing event.
